I am almost always in denim, it’s part of my uniform and it’s what brings me comfort. And when I am not in denim, I reach for trousers, even in the middle of a scorching summer day. Of course, I love a good dress, but I think “wearing the pants” is part of my tomboy personality because I simply feel at my best in trousers regardless of the weather. Anyway.
When the Net-A-Porter private sale started I had my basket full of things, but ended up with only three items, one of those being an Eres swimsuit and the other two, a pair of trousers and this Victoria Beckham dress I intend to wear as a top.
After I reorganized my wardrobe, I realized that I don’t have any casual pants; nothing in between denim and laid back - but still dressy - trousers, so I bought this pair before my holiday. I absolutely love them and wore them almost every day since then, so went for the carpenter style this time, in a soft yellow. I wasn't sure at first, but I decided to give them a try, and after being able to build all the looks here in no-time, I kept them.
For my favorite kind of weather - chill mornings with warm afternoons, I paired the trousers with a mid-weight knit (I just bought this sweatshirt to recreate the outfit for summer when it’s super hot but the AC requires something on) and fisherman sandals. Wish I could wear this right now (it got super hot after weeks of non-stop rains and colder weather).
the pants are true to size, but I went up a size because I prefer a more oversized look. It helps that they have a string and not an elastic band. I went up a size in The Row ones also, and had to take them to the tailor because of the elastic band.
the sweater is on sale at Matches, and it is such a great one. I bought mine when returns were still eligible, so make sure you know your size before buying. I wear a medium.
the bag has been on repeat since I got it, I love how understated it is and the quality is amazing. You can buy it here and get 10% off with code 10NEW.
these sandals were a great purchase. I went down half a size (I am 38.5, went for 38. True sizes might find no need to size down).
Today I am actually wearing the below. I love the colors together, it reminds me of an ice cream cone. Yup. If I were made of cake, I’d eat myself.
the shirt is currently 30% off; this one would be better (quality wise) , and it’s on my wishlist as well.
bag is from last year, but this is part of the permanent collection. Love the mini size as well.
the coveted boat shoes. I stalked them for five months, and finally found them at Nordstrom. So far they kept restocking, so if you are in the market for a pair keep refreshing that browser until you make yourself proud. Or dizzy, in my case.
Same idea as above, playing with accessories a bit.
This weekend Jenni Kayne offers 20% off sitewide. The cardigan is so good that I plan a black version soon. I am in size medium.
bag is part of an ongoing little obsession with the size and shape; shoes are true to size.
the small CELINE accessory above is from the current Plein Soleil collection.
I also love how the VB dress looks worn as a top with these trousers. So much so that I plan on wearing this to a breakfast thing I have tomorrow.
First I made the collage above, then I put on the clothes. Major love. Easy, soft, cozy, all I love, really.
The sweater is included in the NAP private sale now, and there are quite a few sizes left. I am wearing a medium.
Keeping the sweater, switching back to the kitten heel, adding the same bag I’ve been wearing almost daily now - cost per wear is heading in the right direction with all these items.
the Breton top is another obsession of mine, and I collect them. The above was a lucky find, this one here is a must.
The outfit below is my favorite, I think. I love Hedi (Slimane), and I love the Olsen twins - as in, I love their dedication to their craft, the “don’t settle for crap” attitude, and the exquisite quality of their creations. And as such, I love wearing the two brands together. To me, it’s more than “just clothes”. It’s an armor.

the shoes are true to size, and 10% off with code 10NEW here.
And let me not forget the hero of all these outfits - the white t-shirt. Like almost everyone who loves clothes, I am on the hunt for THE Holy Grail in every category. So far, two t-shirts are at the top of my list: the one I am wearing here, which I have discover back in 2017, and this one, which I have just discovered this week. It was love at first try.
What do you think? Which outfit is your favorite?
Happy Thursday,
Dea xx

Love the pants! And I have that Jenni Kayne sweater in black and lived in for fall and winter...
